kritvA daityavadham krishnah sarAmah yaduBih vritah I

kritvA - having done; Dytyam - the demon; vadham - killing; krishNah - Krishna; sa- with; Raamah - Balarama; yaduBih - by the yadus; vritah - surrounded; Buvah - the earth; avatArayam - avatara, incarnated into the world; BAram - burden, trouble; avishTam - younger; janayam - caused, produced; kalim - in kaliyuga
Having killed the demons, Krishna with Balarama, surrounded by the Yadus, incarnated reducing the burden of Kali in the world.

ye kopitAh subahu paNdustAh sapatnyh durvAda helana kacagrahaNAdiBih tAn I
kritvA nimittam itaretaratah sametAn hatvA parAn niraarat kshitiBAram Isah II
Ye- who; kopitAh - enraged, furious; subah - very much, greatly; paNdusutAh - children of pandu, sons of pandu; sapatnyh - by enemies, rivals, adversaries; durvAda - slander, abse, speaking ill; helana - act of slighting, disregard, contempt; kaca - hair band, hem of a garment; kaca grahaN - seizing or grasping of hair; AdiBih - and others; tAn - them; kritvA - having done; nimittam - motive, cause, reason; itaretarah - several; sametAn - coming together; hatvA - having killed; palAn - thus; niraharat - removed, took off; kshiti - of earth; BAram - burden
He, the lord, having the cause of sons of Pandu, enraged by the slander, contempt and drawing away cloths by their rivals, destroyed and reduced the burden of earth.

BUBAra rAjapritanA yaduBih nirasya guptyh swabAhuBih achintyat aprameyah I
manye avaneh anugatah api agatah api BArah yad yAdavam kulam aho avishahyam Aste II
BUBAra - the burden of earth; rAja - of military caste, kshatriya; pritanA - army; yaduBih - by the yadus; nirasya - having cast or thrown out, having rejected or expelled; guptyh - means of concealment; svabAhuBih - by his own arms; acintyat - directed thoughts towards, considered; aprameyah - the unlimited; manye - regarded, considered;
avaneh - of earth; anugatah - followers; api - even; agatah - not gone, helpless; BArah - burden; yad - which ; yAdavam - of Yadavas; kulam - family, community; avishahyam - intolerable, insupportable; Aste - continue, continue in any situation;
The unfathomable lord, having rejected the Yadus under the protection of his arms, thought the followers and helpless of the community of Yadavas are intolerable and burden of the earth.

na eva anyatah pariBavah asya Bavet kathvamscit mat samSrayasya viBavah unnahan asya nityam I
antah aklim yadu kulasya viDAya venu samghasya vahnim iva SAntim upayemi DAma II
na -not; eva - only; anyatah - of another; pariBavah - injury surpassing; asya - of this; Bavet - happens, arises; kathaschit - by any means; mat - any; samSrayasya - of relationship, association; viBavah - might, magnanimity; unnahan - to free from fetters, push out; asya - of this; nityam - continual; antah - within; kalim - strife; yadu - yadus; kulasya - of community; viDAya - having disposed, having made ready;
venu - of bamboo; sanghasya - of close contact; vahnim - fire; iva - like; santim - extinction; upayemi - (I) go; DAma - abode, Vaikuntha;
No other injury of any means happens to them to be free from fetters because of my association and might. Only strife amongst community extincts them like fire in bamboo and I go to my abode (Vaikuntha).

Evam vyavasitah rAjau satyasamkalpa Iswarah I
SApAvyAjena viprANAm sanjahne svakulam viBuh II
Evam - thus; vyavasitah - resolved, determined, settled; rAjau - O king; satya - true, virtuous, of Vishnu; samkalpa - will, determination, purpose; Iswarah - the Lord; SApA - by curse, implication; vyAjena - pretext, by contrivance, by means of; viprAnAm - of the sages; sanjahne - destroyed, annihilate, withdrew, closed; svakulam - his own race, family; viBuh - the Lord;
The lord of virtuous will, having resolved thus abandoned and destroyed his own race by the curse of the sages.

Who, truly and quickly spread his glory, having set free the eyes of beings by his manifestation; by
acts of looking after them, recollecting by songs of praise and word (verse); by cutting off the darkness of ignorance; the Lord Sree Krishna had gone to his abode.

vipraSApah katham aBut vrishNinAm krishna catasAm II
brahmaNyAnAm - devotees of Krishna; vanAnyAnAm - of those triumphant (people); nityam - always; vriddha - old people or aged people; upasavinAm - worshipping, service; vipra - of sages; SApah - curse; katham - how, in what way; aBut - had happened; vrishNinAm - of those of the clan of VrishNi; krishna - of Krishna; cetasAm - conscious;
How did the curse of the sages happen to those people of the Crishni clan who are always conscious of Krishna, who are ever devoted and serving their aged seniors?

Katham ekAtmanAm Beda etat sarvam vadasva me II

biBrat - holding in; vapuh - the body; sakala - all; sundara - beautiful; sannivesam - appearance, form; karma - action; Acaran - doing; Buvi - in the world; sumaNgalam - bringing good fortune, very auspicious; AptakAmah - the lord who has all desires fulfilled
The lord whose all desires were fulfilled held the appearance of the most beautiful figure.
AsthAya dhAma ramamANa udArakIrtih I
samhartum aicchatakulam stitha kritih aSeshah II
AsthAya - having recourse to; dhAma - resort, abode; ramamANa - playing, sporting; udAra - high, illustrious, noble; kIrtih - renown, fame, glory; udArakIrtih - illustrious, highly renowned; samhartum - destroying, annihilation; aicchita - desired, wished; kulam - clan (of yadus); sthitakritih - remaining making, work; sthita - standing, situated, remaining; aSeshah - entire, all, whole;
The lord with noble renown, having recourse to dwelling, playing, desired destruction of all his clan of his making.

karmANi puNya nivahAni sumaNgalAni gAyat jagat kali mala apaharANi kritvA I
kAlAtmanA nivasatA yadudeva gehe pindArakam samagaman munayah nisrishtAh II
karmANi - actions; puNya - pure, auspicious, meritorious; nivahANi - leading, bringing about, accomplishing; sumaNgalAm - auspicious; gAyut - moving, going towards, approaching; jagat - people, mankind, the world; kali mala - impurities in the age of kali yuga; apaharANi - removing; kritvA - having done; kalAtmanA - by Sri Krishna ( by black or blue Lord); nivasatA - dwelling, inhabiting; yadu deva - king of Yadus (Ugrasena); gehe - in the house; yadu deva gehe - in the house of the king of the Yadus - Dwaraka; pindArakam - holy place of bathing; samagaman - going together; munyah - sages; nisrishTAh - sent forth;
Singing and having done actions leading to sacred and auspicious in removing the impurities of word in Kaliyuga and going together to the holy place of pindarakam as sent forth by sages Sri Krishna lived in Dwaraka in the home of Ugrasena King of Yadus.

krIdantAn - playings; tan - them; upavrajya - approaching; kumArAh - the boys; yadunandanAh - the sons of Yadu; upasamgrihya - taking hold of; papricchuh -asked; avinIta - bowed down; vinIta - trained, well behaved; vat - like;
The sons of Yadus playing approaching and having taken asked with heads bowed down like those well trained.

te veshayitvA strIveshyh sAmbam jAmbavatIsutam I
eshA pricchati vah viprA antarvati nyasitA IkshaNA II
te - they; veshayitvA - having assumed appearance; strI - of woman; veshyh - by woman figure; sAmbam - sAmba; jAmbavatI sutam - son of jAmbavatI; eshA - this (woman); pricchati - ask; vah - from you; antarvatita - pregnant woman; asita - dark colored, black; IkshaNA - looks;
They having made sAmba, son of jAmbavati appearing like a pregnant woman, ask the sages

prasThum vilajjatI yushman rabrUta amogha darSanAh I
prasoshyantI putrakAmA kimsvit samjanayishyati II
prasThum - to ask; vilajjati - blushes; yushmAn - you; prabrUta - tell; amogha - fruitful, infallible; darsanAh - visionaries; prasoshyantI - being languished; putra - son; kAmA - desire; kimsvit - pray, who; samjanayishyati - will give birth to;
She blushes to ask you, visionaries, please tell this woman languishing for a son, whom she will give birth to.
Sloka 16
evam pralabdhA munayali tAn Uchuh sahasA nripa I
janayishyati vo mandA musalam kula nAsanam II
Evam - in this way; pralabdhA - created, over reached; munayah - sages; tAn - to them; Uchuh - asked; sahasA - unexpectedly; nripa - O king; janayishyati - will give birth; vo - that; mandA -stupid; musalam - wooden pestle, club; kula - of clan (of yadus); nASanam - destroying;
Asked suddenly in this way, the sages who were cheated, told them she will give birth, O stupids, to a club which destroys the clan of the Yadus.

tat srutvA te atisantrastA vimuchya sahasA udaram I
sAmbasya dadriSuh tasmin musalam khalu ayasmayAm II
tat - that; srutvA - having heard; te - they; atisantrastA - very much frightened; vimuchya - having removed (the female dress); sahasA - quickly; udaram - abdomen; sAmbasya - of sAmba; dadrisuh - had found; tasmin- in that; musalam - pestle; khalu - indeed; ayasmayAm - made of iron;
Having heard that, they quickly removed the female dress of sAmba and found indeed a pestle made of iron.

kim kritam mandaBAgyh nah kim vadishyanti nah janAh I
iti vihvalatA gehAn AdAya musalam yayuh II
Kim dritam - what has been done; mandA - foolish; BAgyAh - fortunates; manda BAgyAh - unfortunate; nah - us; kim - what; vadishyanti - (they) say; nah - us; janAh - people; iti - thus; vihvalatA - by agitation- gehAm - towards (their) houses; Adaya - having taken; musalam - pestle; yayuh - had gone;
What has been done by us unfortunates! What will people say about us? Thus agitated, they went home with the pestle.

tat ca upanIya sadasi parimlAnamukha Sriyah I
rAjnyA AvedayAh cakruh sarva yAdava sannidhau II

Having brought that (pestle) with the countenance of fear and grief into the assembly, and reported to the king in the presence of all the Yadavas.

SrutvA amogham vipra SApam dristhvA ca musalam nripa I
vismitA Baya santrastA baBUvuh dvAraka okasah II
SrutvA - having heard; amogham - infallible; vipra - of the sages; SApam - curse; drishthvA - having seen; ca - and; musalam - pestle; nripa - O King; vismita - perplexed; BAya - with fear; santrustA - terrified; baBUvuh - had become; dvAraka - the city of Dwaraka; okasah - residents;
Having heard about the infallible curse of the sages and seeing the pestle, the residents of Dvaraka became perplexed with terror.
Sloka 21
tat cUrNayitvA musalam yadu rAjah sa Ahukah I
Samudra salile prAsyat loham ca asya avaseshitam II
Tat - that; cUrNayitvA - having made into powder, having ground into powder; musalam - pestle; yadurAjah - the king of the Yadus; sah - he; Ahukah - Ugrasena; samudra - of the ocean; salile - into the waters; prAsyAt - drowned; loham - metal; ca asya - of this; avaseshitam - left remaining;
That King of Yadus got the pestle ground into powder and drowned the remaining metal into the waters of the ocean.
Sloka 22
kascin matsyah agrasIt loham cUrNAni taralyh tatah I
Uhya mAnAni velAyAm lagnAnyAsan kila erakah II
kascin - some; matsyah - fish; agrasIt - had swallowed in; loham - metal; cUrNAmi - powder; taralyh - by the waves; tatah - then; UhyamAnAni - being pushed out by the waves; velAyAm - at the shore; lagnA - clinging, sticking, remaining; nyAsat - deposited; kila - verily, indeed; erakah - kind of grass;
Some of the metal was swallowed by fish in the ocean, the rest washed by the waves, was deposited on the shores. It stuck to the shore and grew into grass.

matsAh grahIta matsya ghnyh jAlena anyh sah ArNave I
taya udara gatam loham salyeshym luBdhakah akarot II
matsyah - fish; grahItah - taken; matsyghnyh - of the killer of fish, fisherman; jAlam - by net; anyh - by others; saha - along with; ArNave - in the ocean; tasya - of that; udara - belly; gatam - that which had gone; loham - metal; salyeshu - in points of arrows; laBdhakah - the killer; akarot - make into;
The fish, along with others, was caught in a fisherman’s net in the sea. The fisherman made arrowheads from the metal which was found in the belly of the fish.

BagavAn JnAta sarva artha Iswarah api tat anyadhA I
kartum na aicchat nipra SApam kAlarUpianvamodata II
BagavAn - the lord; jnAta - knowing; sarva - all; artha - motive, cause; tat - that; anydhA - in any other way; kartum - to do; na - not; aicchat - desired, wished; vipra - of sages; SApam - curse; kala - of destroyer; rUpi - of a form; anvamodata - approved after;
The lord knows all causes even though the master did not desire the approval in any other way.
